Delhi’s Jagrata boy makes an impact at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs
Judge Richa Sharma gets nostalgic about her own days of performing jaagrans as young Ritik auditions for Zee TV’s kids singing reality show
Kick-starting yet another awesome season of Zee TV’s top-rated singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, the exceptionally gifted child prodigies are back!
Having ruled the hearts of viewers across the nation in the previous season with beautiful renditions and blockbuster performances of its superlative talent, the show is back with a new pool of aspiring child singers all set to display their phenomenal vocal abilities.
Celebrating music as an important life tool that puts kids on a path of growth and fuels their all-round development, the mantra this season is #MusicSeBadhengeHum.
An all-new judges panel comprising the most sought-after singers from the industry – Shaan, Amaal Mallik and Richa Sharma will be seen mentoring the contestants through this musical journey while television heartthrob Ravi Dubey will be this season’s charming host.
A story embodying this season’s mantra ‘Music se Badhenge hum’ is that of 15-year-old Ritik who hails from a small village near Ghazipur. He started singing when he was a toddler. Having discovered his unique talent at a very young age, Ritik and his family shifted to Delhi when he was quite young, so that he could study and get the best musical training.
Due to personal reasons, his family had to return to their hometown, leaving their kid alone in Delhi where he now stays on rent. Hardworking as he is, Ritik not only wakes up at 5:30 AM for his Riyaz, but also goes for music classes and attends school, while looking after his entire household single-handedly. To sustain himself, Ritik uses the money he earns from his performances at various jagratas to pay for his daily expenses, house rent and music training.
Judge Richa Sharma was truly touched by this story as she could identify with it. She too used to perform at jagratas and has worked very hard to make a mark for herself in the music industry.
After hearing this child’s touching story, she couldn’t help herself and immediately got up on stage to sing with him putting up an awesome duet which had the audiences swaying to ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’.
All three judges showered this little superstar for his performance but also applauded him for his resilience, hard-work and dedication. Now those are the true qualities that make an aspiring singer a Li’l Champ!
This week’s audition episodes of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs will witness a bunch of talented young singers showcasing their singing prowess and impressing the judges and the audience alike.
